The sweet TriBama Stencil T you can purchase at Inuaguration was the original stencil that fueled our creative campaign across the America - the project known worldwide as the “BamaBus.”

The goals were huge and the issues at stake were life-changing.

We were able to drive the movement across the country because of the generous donations we recieved at each stop in addition to our online supporters.

Filmmaker Frederik Boll was along for the ride to document this epic journey. Throughout our adventure we captured over 60 hours of documentary footage and produced 7 video blogs.

The next phase of this project is sharing this story of creativity, empowerment and activism with the American People through a documentary and traveling exhibit.

ART THE CHANGE: Make your own Stencil T!

Supplies: Xacto knife, Spray-paint, Cardboard, and white t shirt.

1. Cut out the black section of the stencil. BE CAREFUL not to cut any white sections, these sections keep the image in place and the stencil sharp. Use a safe cutting surface. We don’t recommend using your dining room table.

2. Prepare the t. Place something flat (such as newspaper, cardboard, tagboard, etc.) inside of the garment. Ideally the shirt will stretch a bit, but it isn’t necessary. This will make sure the paint doesn’t bleed through.

3. Spray-Paint! Lay the stencil on your shirt in the desired position. Then, select your color of choice and start to spray. GOOD IDEA to test the method before going at your favorite white t. Use your creativity and have a ball!

Keep in mind: The stencils should lay flat. You can push down on the stencil with a stick while spraying, or work with a partner or a crowd. A little paint goes a long way-use short, fast strokes. Painting fewer layers IS better. You can layer darker colors on lighter colors. We Recommend: Take of your watch. Make sure you are in a well-ventilated area!

4. Dry Let the t dry for 5-9 minutes. When you wash the garment the first time, put it in the washing machine by itself.
